Roberts Limbrick is Now a B Corp

We at Roberts Limbrick are thrilled to announce our certification as a B Corporation (B Corp), joining a dynamic and growing movement of companies dedicated to reinventing business for the benefit of all people and our shared planet. This certification, verified by B Lab, the not-for-profit organisation behind the B Corp movement, demonstrates that we meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. It also signifies our unwavering commitment to goals beyond shareholder value.

This certification comes at a critical time, as the ongoing climate crisis and widening social inequality continue to challenge our global economy. B Corp Certification assesses the entirety of a business’s operations and currently covers five main impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. The certification process is rigorous, requiring companies to achieve a minimum score of 80 points on the B Impact Assessment and provide evidence of responsible practices in areas such as energy use, waste management, water conservation, worker compensation, diversity, and corporate transparency. Additionally, businesses must legally embed their commitment to purpose alongside profit in their company articles.

Joining the B Corp community places Roberts Limbrick among a global network of over 8,000 certified businesses. The B Corp community in the UK is particularly robust and rapidly expanding, with over 1,700 companies across various industries and sizes. Notable members include The Guardian, Innocent Drinks, Patagonia, Tony’s Chocolonely, The Big Issue, Finisterre, lemis, and Sipsmith Gin.

Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, says:

“We are pleased to have B Corps of all shapes and sizes as part of our community — from startups to multinationals and across many different industries. Business is a powerful force, and B Corps demonstrates that positive impact is possible in any sector. Welcoming Roberts Limbrick is an exciting moment for the construction industry. B Lab UK and the rest of the B Corp community are really pleased that Roberts Limbrick is paving the way for a new way of doing things.”

About B Corp Certification

B Corp Certification evaluates the overall social and environmental impact of a company. To achieve B Corp Certification, a company must score at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment, undergo a risk review, change its corporate governance structure to be accountable to all stakeholders (not just shareholders), and exhibit transparency by allowing information about their B Corp Certification performance to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab’s website. B Corps must recertify every three years and are expected to improve their score over time as they progress towards becoming more equitable, inclusive, and regenerative businesses.
