Over the last few years, we have worked extensively with Hartpury University and Hartpury College to deliver new buildings to their campus, helping them to achieve their wider strategic plan of supporting student growth with first-class facilities. Our two main projects have been the University Learning Hub and Graze.
We worked with Barnwood Construction and Vitruvius Management Services to deliver Graze, a £5 million catering hub with flexible teaching spaces, catering facilities, event space and sustainable features. The building was designed to be fully accessible for disabled users, with accessible WC facilities, dropped kerbs, and level access throughout.
The University Learning Hub will house a library and learning areas. The two-storey building will include formal and informal study spaces, social spaces, a cafe, and administrative facilities. Green roofing and landscaping will help local ecology, biodiversity and improve outdoor space.
Graze was handed over in August 2022 providing students of both the college and the university with a brand-new catering hub. Work began on the University Learning Hub in October 2022.
The buildings are designed to be low carbon providing a highly sustainable environment for work, study and collaboration. The designs follow a ‘fabric first’ approach, with high levels of insulation and internal environments developed to maximise natural light and fresh air. Following this ‘fabric first’ approach, on-site renewables have been included, such as photovoltaic panels.
