We have worked with Haskins Garden Centres for many years, and recently delivered a new-build garden centre at Snowhill. This involved the demolition of the existing, outdated centre so we could deliver contemporary facilities more suited to customer expectations of a modern retail experience. A key challenge with this project was the client’s aspiration to continue trading throughout construction. This required careful and detailed consideration of the project’s phased delivery.
Snowhill is located on a sensitive greenbelt location, so this required consultation with the local authority and neighbours throughout the planning and development process. We worked closely with Haskins to consider the layout and phasing of the development. Temporary facilities were used during construction to reduce disruption and non-trading time.
Haskins Garden Centre at Snowhill successfully opened in March 2020 offering extensive indoor and covered outdoor sales areas, a 450-seat restaurant with an external dining terrace and a 213 space car park including 16 fully accessible spaces.
In 2021, it was named ‘Destination Garden Centre of the Year’ in the Garden Centre Association (GCA) South Thames Regional Awards.
