Webbs Garden Centre in Cheltenham has a popular café and restaurant which needed a light refurbishment. The brief was to create a visual identity that could be used in other Webbs restaurants and to incorporate plants and natural elements to match the garden centre setting. After the pandemic, table service was introduced so the space needed to feel more like a restaurant than a café or canteen.
Our team used a mix of new furniture and finishes, introducing banquet booths and upholstery to soften and define spaces and to create a cosy feel in the restaurant. Plants were incorporated throughout, and we used a biophilic palette along with wood and metal materials. The metal work and flooring drew inspiration from Victorian orangeries and are combined with modern elements. New general lighting and feature lighting was key to create the atmosphere of a cosy restaurant.
The refurbished restaurant is a busy, popular venue in Cheltenham. Our design has been so well received, that there are plans to create similar restaurants in other Webbs Garden Centres.
